Review- Maybelline Baby Lips
Hi everybody!
I am pleased to be back and doing normal reviews again. I have been a bit stuck about what I wanted to review because I had done the ones that I wanted to do. But because I bought some items on holiday, it gave me some more things to review.
Today I am going to be reviewing the Maybelline Baby Lips lip balm. These are really new to the UK but that have been out for a while in the US. I was so happy when I looked on the Superdrug website and saw that they were finally being released! I looked closer into what shades and flavours that there were and I began deciding which ones I wanted the most. I went to my local Superdrug store in hope that I could pick some up but they weren't there. I then looked in Boots and saw that they were coming out a few days later. I ended up buying online with a few other item and they were having a 3 for 2 on the Superdrug website so I bought 3 with one free (BONUS!!)
That's enough of my rambling and now lets get into the review!
So like I said, I picked up three. I was so excited when they came because I had been waiting a long time for them to come to the UK.
I bought Pink Punch...
Mint Fresh...
And (my personal favourite) Cherry Me.
The Mint fresh one doesn't have a colour so it goes on the lips clear. I like that because this is the only one that doesn't have a colour and they have a yellow one and a blue one in the range that I am skeptical to try because I don't want them to leave a tint or any sort of colour on my lips. This one smells so good. It is more of a sweet mint rather than a really strong, over powering one which I love because I have a sweet tooth. It tastes/smells like spearmint chew sweets and I love them.
The Cherry Me one is my favourite. It smells so amazing! I really like the cherry smell of beauty products because it doesn't smell the same as actual cherries. It just smells sweeter. I also love the colour of this. It leaves a really pretty tint on your lips. It's nice because if you don't want to put on a lipstick or a lot on your mouth, this can substitute it because it looks like you have put on a lip stain but it's really just a lip balm. I also like that it have colour because most lip balms don't so it is really good to have one that leaves a colour. They feel really mousturising and it feels like it is doing good to the lips. I like that it is a lip balm because not many big make up brands make lip balms, its mostly lip skicks, gloss and stains. I get chapped lips all year round and I am constantly on the look out for one that actually gets rid of my chapped lips. I really feel like this does that. They are nice and mousturising which I love and they sit perfectly on the lips. It almost feels like I have nothing on my lips when I do.
The pink punch one is fabulous. I would have to say that it is my least favourite of them all but not because of the formula, the formula is great on all of them. The reason that this one is my least favourite is that the colour is really not suited to my skin tone. Because I am pale skinned, it doesn't look right and makes my teeth look yellow. I think that it is because it's a shocking pink and it doesn't really sit well with pale skin. Other than that, the formulation is great, the pigmentation of it is very similar to a lip stick as it is so bright and pigmented. The smell/taste is so nice.
Overall, these products are really fantastic and I know why they are hyped up so much. They are a huge sucess over in America and I hope that they are in the UK and other countries. They are really worth the money. They stand out on the shelf because of the brightly coloured packaging. I love the packaging because it is simple but that have used colour blocking and used colours that really stand out against each other. For example, the pink punch one is a bright pink tube with bold yellow writing and it really stands out on the shelf. There is also a lot of balm in them so they will last a long time.
These products are worth the money and more and they are really fabulous. I would recommend these to anyone and everyone should give them a try.
