Review- MUA Luxe Velvet Lip Lacquers

By 17:56:00

Hi everyone!
So I am back with a review and these are a relatively new product to me but I was really excited when I finally got and received them. I am going to be reviewing the MUA Luxe Velvet Lip Lacquers.

I picked up four of them but there are 5 in total in the whole collection. The fifth one is an orange shade named Automatic of anyone is interested in that one. I personally didn't get that one as I am not a fan of orange colour on lips and I know it wouldn't suit me but it will suit a lot of different skin tones. As you can see, most of the shades are pinks and red but there is a very vibrant purple which is quite dark. I don't have a pure purple lip product and that's why I was most excited to get this one. The packaging lovely. It really does look luxe and expensive. I love the cloudy tube and the black like with the gold writing as it looks much more expensive and high end. So let's get into the shades and swatches!

The first shade I picked up was the shade called Criminal. This is a very bright, neon pink which I really love. This will go with so many things such as a simple winged liner or a little of a smokey eye. This can add a beautiful, bright pop of colour to any outfit. This will look especially good with a black outfit and it will really tie the whole look together. You could also use a small amount and spread it over the lip for a more day time look so it will be very toned down and with a light, pretty gloss over the top it can go from a subtle day look to a beautiful night time look.

The next shade I picked up was the shade Reckless. This is a red shade, I would say it is a little darker than the classic, Marilyn Monroe red that I adore. I am an absolute sucker for red lipstick because I feel like a red lip goes with so many things and it is very versatile and easy to work with. At first I was very frightened of red lipstick and didn't think it would suit me but now I wear a lot of red. For a first time red lipstick wearer, this might not be the product for you because it goes on really opeque (which I love) and it dries really quick making it harder to remove. I would opt for a lipstick for a first time red wearer but as I wear a lot of red, this is easy and perfect for me to work with. It goes on smoothly and nicely but I do need to give it time to dry.

The next shade I picked up was Funk which is a hot, berry pink and this is my favourite shade of pink for practically everything. I will always go for a hot pink rather than a pale pink. This is the perfect hot pink shade and again, pinks are very easy to work with as a lot of people wear pink and it can be used for many occasions. It can be used in day time if a little bit is used, or night time if more is used.  I feel like they should swap the names of funk and criminal because I feel like the neon pink is much more funky.

Now, the next shade is very different for me because I don't have a colour like this in my collection. This shade is Kooky and it is a purple shade. It is just a normal purple but a teeny but darker. This is not a versatile as the others but I think it could really work. This needs a lot of practice applying to get it right as it is a bit more of a daring colour. You would need to figure out what the rest of the face needs to look like to make this fit in and blend in nicely. This can't really be worn as a day look but this maybe mixed with a other, similar colour such as a pink so that it can be less daunting. This really isn't a colour for a new time lipstick wearer but this really could work for a lot of people.

So here are the swatches all together and as you can see, the comparison between criminal sad funk. They are all so pigmented and go on really opeque. They do seem to crumble off after a while and they can make the lips feel really dry so maybe a balm underneath May make the lips more mosturises (but not a balm and then the laquer streight after, let the balm sink in more). But for the price and the quality of the product, this is really great and the shade range is great.
