Top 5 Beauty Products for Summer: Eye Shadow!

By 15:15:00

Hi everyone!

So I have the next instalment of my Top 5 Beauty Products for Summer series and next up is eye shadows. I thought just eye shadows would be better because other eye products work better for some people than others so I just stuck to eye shadows. Lets jump right in shall we.

So first, this is the Glitter Ball palette from MUA. This is a lovely coloured palette but it is also very glittery which means the pigmentation isn't too strong. This is lovely to just add a pop of colour to a neutral eye. These work well on the lower lash line to just add a colour to make a look more fun, interesting and summery. I love the blue in the palette especially because I rarely ever venture into blue shadow and it's a nice starting point for me. As I said, the pigmentation could be better, as with MUA the pigmentation is always fantastic with their shadows, but with this being very glittery, it's harder to get the pigmentation into is. I really like this for summer because of the colours and it just adds a fun element to a look.

Next will not be a surprise to you if have been reading. This is the Urban Decay Naked 3 Palette. I have been obsessed with this since I got it and I really love it! It is very different to palettes out there because they are pink toned neutrals which is gorgeous. This is a perfect palette for me because I have a lot of brown neutral colours from other palettes and this one is a different shade range which is gorgeous. The pink tones compliment my skin tone very well and all the shadows are very pigmented which is amazing. It looks like I have barely used it but I use it all the time. As you can see, the shade range is fantastic and they all compliment each other beautifully. This is a splurge product but I would recommend it to anyone because it is gorgeous. I am going to link a very good, budget friendly dupe of this palette for you as this is very pricey.

Next is the MUA Undress Me Too palette. I am obsessed with this palette! It is one of my all time favourite palettes and here's why. The pigmentation is amazing on this. The colours are so strongly pigmented and lovely to blend, it makes it so easy to create very wearable looks for both day and night. They range from very light colours to dark which is lovely. There is also a mix of shimmer shades and matte's. The first colour is very good as a base for eye shadows because it kind of just makes the eye lid just one colour. I also love the champagne colour for highlighting the inner corners and under the brow bone because it is very natural. This is really is an all in one palette for those that love neutrals. I have recommended this to a friend and she loves this just as much as I do. Its fabulous and it is so easy to work with and it is a staple in my make up collection.

Next is the Collection Work The Colour Eye Shadow Pencil in the shade Vanilla Sky. I picked this up to use as an inner corner highlight because it is a lovely shimmery vanilla colour and it really brightens up the eye for any looks. This looks lovely as a highlight as a part of a smoky eye, a simple winged liner to brighten the eye up or just in everyday make up. Because of the light colour, this is brilliant as a highlight. I wouldn't use this under the brow as it is not too easy to blend out and it is a little harsh for the brow bone. These are very inexpensive and they add another lovely element to your make up and just makes you look more awake and bright eyed. Another thing I don't like about this is that it doesn't look like it can sharpen and it doesn't twist up to get more product so you don't get too much for your money but because this is really strong, you don't need to use too much. This can also be used all year round which is something I love in a product because the colour is very versatile. As I said, the main purpose of  me buying this is to use as a highlight and that's exactly what  I use it for.

Last but certainly not least is the Maybelline Color Tattoo in the shade 65- Pink Gold. This is beautiful! This is one of my favourite shadows ever. I am a huge fan of the color tattoo's and, including this one, I have 5 of them. This one is by far my favourite! This is a gorgeous pink colour. I don't really notice the gold in it but it definitely is shimmery which is stunning. I use this all the time and it looks like I haven't used it much. This is very pigmented and it is so creamy. I was a bit cautious of cream eye shadow's because I had never used them before but these are very beautiful. What I also love about them is that they blend beautifully. They also dry quite quickly so it stays in place all day. These are definitely some of the best shadows I have and they are very inexpensive for the quality and quantity you get of these. Let's get more into this particular one itself. I chose this one over the others because it is a very light, summer colour bur this is the most workable and versatile of the others. This just adds a nice colour in the lid and you could just swipe this on and add some liner and it looks like you have spent loads of effort in doing your make up. This also works as an amazing primer underneath the Naked 3 palette as previously mentioned in this post because they are in the same shade family and they just look good together. It allows the power shadows in the palette to stick to this and makes the shadows last longer. Overall, this is a definite winner and like I said, it one of my all time favourite shadows. I would highly recommend this to everyone and all of the shades are lovely in the collection too.

So that wraps part two of the summer beauty top 5. Look out for part 3 which is coming tomorrow. Happy reading and I'll see you next time x
