Christmas/Winter & New Years Makeup Lookbook!

By 12:26:00

Hi everyone!

So, I know I haven't been blogging for a while but I have been super busy with University (Nursing courses are hard work!) and with work placement, I just haven't had the time and my social life has been all going on recently.

But one reason why I haven't blogged in a while is because I have a special post for you all and I have been preparing for it and as you can tell from the title of the post that it is a makeup look book. This lookbook is specifically for Christmas and Winter. I love this time of year for makeup because it where you can play around with dark colours and go a little heavier on the makeup which I like doing because I am such a huge fan on dark lipstick. So all these looks are ones that I have done on myself and its just for inspiration for people really if you want to do lovely makeup for Christmas day or new years eve or just to try out.

Look 1: Berry Lip
So the first look it a more natural eye with a berry lipstick. I really love a berry red lipstick this time of year because it just seems appropriate and it is very suitable for autumn. On the eyes, I used gold tones and finished them off with a winged liner and a lick of mascara. For the lips, I used one of my favourite lipsticks which is a dark burgundy, berry red which compliments the outfit I worn and I find the burgundy's suit probably every skin tone.

Look 2: Dark Smoky Eye
The next look is a very dark smoky eye which I am obsessed with this look. If anyone knows me, they know I would nearly always go for a dark lip so this is very different for me. I paired it with a baby pink/nude lip which I think compliments the eye look beautifully. This is very dramatic and it takes a lot of blending but I think this would look beautiful on New Years if you're going to a party.

Look 3: Copper and Gold eyes
Next look is a copper look. This can be worn with a nude lip instead of a berry lip and can be more wearable in the day time and I know copper and reds aren't everyone's cup of tea but I love the colour palette of this look. I find that the berry lip really compliments the tones in the eye look. The orange tones really compliment blue eyes too and to add something new to the look is add a winged liner.

Look 4: Copper and Cranberry eyes
So this is very similar to the look above but I feel that this one is more dramatic and has more cranberry tones in the eyes. This look is blended up closer to the eyebrow and much more gold on the lid. Again, it is paired with the berry lip again (what can I say? I love a berry lip, it oh so festive and appropriate). Again, this can be adapted and changed up to what you feel would suit you.

Look 5: Purple Lips
This is one of my favourite looks! I live how the eyes are simple and muted down and the lips is just lovely and dark. I'm an absolute sucker for purple lipstick. I would wear this look during the day but this look can be added to or adapted however you like because it is so simple. The lips definitely make this look and to me, that's what makes it so special.

Look 6: Gold eyes
So this look is again, with a berry lip because I think at this time of year, it looks stunning and I feel that berry lip shades can suit ever skin tone. If you don't think a berry tone will suit you or you are a bit scared to try dark colours on your lips, I would definitely try a berry lipstick because they are so flattering. So as you can see from this look, its very much gold based on the eyes with a winged liner to make it come together. I really love this look and its so shimmery which makes it great fro Christmas parties.

Look 7: Simple makeup with a purple lip
This look is very simple and can be added to to make it darker to what you want to make it more party. Again, I have a purple lip but this is much lighter than the other which makes it much more wearable. I know that purple isn't everyone's colour of choice on their lips (I'm currently obsessed with purple!) so it can easily be switched up to a colour that you prefer which is why this look is perfect to work with.

Look 8: Dark purple eyes
So, I'm really going for the purples this year! This is a much more intense purple eye paired with a nude lip. I usually always go with a dark lip so this is different for me but I really love it. It draws more attention to your eyes which is always lovely and purple is a bit less harsh than black if black is not the shade you want, this is a nice alternative. This is just one solid shade of purple, it doesn't change but I have used a black in the outer V of the eye just to darken it up a little bit more and add some depth.

Look 9: Purple Smoky eye

So this look is very similar to the last one but this is more of a gradient smoky eye rather than just one solid colour. I used different shades of purple to achieve this look and paired it with a nude lip and I feel that this can suit everyone and it can be adapted to us different colours and things and also to be worn during the day. This would look great on new years with a black outfit but it could work with so many outfits, its just very versatile.

Look 10: Classic winged liner and red lip
The last look of the lookbook is a classic. Just a simple winged liner with a striking red lip. I have made this a little more festive by using some gold shadow on the list and adding a super glittery gloss on the lips. This lipgloss is like Christmas in a tube because it is so glittery, which is perfect for this time of year. Its very simple but its an absolute classic and can be a go to look for day time and night time if you haven't got much inspiration at the time, it just looks effortless and gorgeous. Again, I find this is one of those looks that suits everyone.

That's it for the lookbook! I have really enjoyed creating these looks and thinking of things for this time of year! I mainly did this for inspiration for people if you feel you want a look but are struggling to think of something! I hope this helped someone!
